# About llmtxt.info

An independent reference on the llms.txt convention: documented, sourced, and maintained with free tools anyone can use.

Last updated: August 12, 2026

## What this site is

llmtxt.info documents the [llms.txt convention](/what-is-llms-txt/): what it is, how
to implement it on any stack, and, just as importantly, what it does not do. The site is
published in English and French in full, with the core pages also available in German, Spanish
and Italian. It ships two free tools, a [generator](/generator/) and a
[validator](/validator/), that run without an account.

The editorial line is deliberately sober: llms.txt is a young, contested convention. We document
the enthusiasm and the skepticism, with sources for both.

## Methodology

- **Every factual claim is sourced.** Pages that make adoption or behavior claims link
their sources at the bottom; statements nobody has verified are labeled as such.
- **Examples are real.** The [examples gallery](/examples/) only lists files
that were live at the recorded date, with a link to the source file.
- **Dates are visible.** Each page shows its last update date, and stale content gets
revised or removed.
The detailed [methodology](/methodology/) publishes the measurement scope and limits; the
[Observatory](/observatory/) publishes the dated data release. Changes to the method, tool
behavior and source files are recorded in the [changelog](/changelog/).

## Independence

The adoption methodology and raw data are public, so anyone can inspect how the numbers are
produced. llmtxt.info is not affiliated with llmstxt.org, Answer.AI, or any AI vendor. The site
currently displays no advertising and sells no placement. If that changes, paid placements will
be labeled, and links from paid placements will carry `rel="sponsored"`.
